The security check is part of the background check that ensures that the applicant is free from liabilities and considered as “safe” for inclusion in the Canadian Society. This stage requires the Visa officers to coordinate with agencies like CSIS, Interpol, NASC, Database Checking & Local Police. Also considered on this check are the no. of countries visited by the applicant, prolonged duration and frequency of travel in a foreign country, past legal cases and inter-religion/inter-nation marriages. If there are questionable items arising from the check, then the Visa Officer can call for an interview for further verification.
