Saskatchewan derives its name from a native cree word meaning “swiftly flowing river”. The province has many rivers and more than 100,000 lakes! It also has rocky areas, forests, and large stretches of farmlands. This province grows the most wheat in North America and it exports this to other countries all over the world.
Saskatchewan is bounded by Alberta on its west, on the North by Northwest Territories, on the east by Manitoba and on the south by the states of Montana and North Dakota.
