This region is where the St. Lawrence Lowlands is located. It is bounded by the Canadian Shield and the north shores of Lake Ontario, Lake Erie and the St. Lawrence River. It is often referred to as “Canada’s Heartland”.
Terrain and Natural Resources: The region has long ridges of high ground, such as the Niagara Escarpment. The landscape is generally flat.
