You may get your SIN from a Service Canada Center and you are required to present the following documents:

1. Original Certificate of Permanent Residence

2. Passport

You will be given an application form which must be filled. When this is done, a Service Canada worker would input the details written in the form. After that, a printed copy of your SIN will be handed over. The SIN card will be mailed 2-3 weeks after to the mailing address you specified in the application.
